Privacy Policy
The short version: everything you log in Nook stays on your iPhone. We don’t collect it, we can’t see it, and we don’t share it.
- No account or sign-up
- No analytics, ads or tracking
- No third-party code that collects data
- Nook doesn’t send anything over the internet
What Nook stores
Nook saves what you enter, only on your device:
- Your baby’s name and birthday
- Logged entries: feeds (nursing and bottle), sleep, diapers, pumping and supplements, with their times, amounts and sides
- Any notes you add to an entry
This data lives in Nook’s storage on your iPhone, where it’s shared only with Nook’s own Home Screen widget and Live Activity.
What the app collects
Nothing. Nook has no server and makes no network requests. We have no way to see your entries, and there is no copy of your data anywhere but your devices.
Our website and the beta list
This policy covers the Nook app and nookbaby.app. The website uses no cookies, ads or analytics. It’s hosted on Cloudflare, which handles basic request details, like your IP address, to deliver and protect the site.
If you join the beta, we store your email address and the date you signed up, in a database we run on Cloudflare. We use it only to send you a TestFlight invite and news about Nook’s launch. We don’t share or sell it. To be removed, use the unsubscribe link in any email or write to support@nookbaby.app, and we’ll delete it.
Widgets and Live Activities
If you add Nook’s widget or start a timer, recent activity can appear on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, where anyone who sees your phone can read it. You can remove the widget or turn off Live Activities for Nook in the iOS Settings app at any time.
Backups
Like most apps, Nook’s data is included in your iPhone’s backups if you use iCloud Backup or back up to a computer. Those backups are managed by Apple under your Apple Account and settings. We can’t access them.
Information Apple may share with us
Apple runs the App Store and TestFlight. If you’ve turned on Share With App Developers (Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and basic usage statistics. These don’t include what you log in Nook. If you test Nook through TestFlight, Apple also sends us any feedback and screenshots you choose to submit. Apple’s handling of this information is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Deleting your data
You can edit or delete any entry in the app. To delete everything, delete Nook from your iPhone. Its data is removed with it, and nothing remains on our side because we never had it. Data in older device backups stays there until those backups are deleted or replaced.
Children’s privacy
Nook is made for parents and caregivers, not for children to use. The details you record about your child stay on your device, and we don’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Nook adds a feature that sends data off your phone, such as sharing with another caregiver, we’ll update this policy before it ships and you’ll choose whether to turn that feature on. The effective date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
